After the success experienced by AB Glass in both the 2008 Wales and Swansea environmental business awards, continual improvements have been made within the company, sourcing further solutions to our environmental impacts. As part of the EMS employed by AB Glass we pursued Green Dragon Level 5 accreditation which was successfully achieved during December 2009. This currently places AB Glass amongst only seven other Welsh organisations to attain this standard; other companies that have accomplished this milestone include, The Welsh Assembly Government and the Countryside Council for Wales. This standard is hailed throughout the construction industry as the pinnacle of environmental achievement.
On receiving the accreditation, AB Glass General Manager Mr. Nigel Harvey issued the following statement; “First of all I would like to pass on the senior managements appreciation to our HSE Manager Mr. Gavin Evans TEC IOSH for the efforts that he has made in achieving this award, this is a great accolade both for the team and the company as a whole. Although maintaining this standard will be a challenge I strongly believe that our staff are more than capable and have the potential to exceed all the requirements. We at AB Glass are fully committed to the environment and will continue to develop our environmental processes for the future.”
