AB Glass are proud to sponsor a pioneering initiative to help local primary school kids.
Buddy Bench, an initiative launched by the South Wales Evening Post in conjunction with Swansea Council is a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground. Students who feel lonely or left out can sit on the buddy bench and ask to be included without saying a word.
If a student doesn’t have someone to play with, they can sit on the bench and the other students know to ask them to come and join in. The Buddy Bench initiative is open to all 79 Primary Schools in the Swansea area.
Painted in bright primary colours the Buddy Benches are manufactured from recycled plastics and are hygienic and easy to clean. Our sponsored bench will be sited at Dunvant Primary.
There will be extensive coverage of the Buddy Bench’s progress across the Evening Post’s platforms, and you can keep up to date with our bench on our social media sites.
Alan Brayley, managing director of AB Glass, said:
“The Buddy Bench initiative offers us a fantastic opportunity to engage with our community and give something back. We look forward to updating you on its success over the coming months.”
