Luxury wedding venue gets glazing revamp

Aluminium manufacturing and installation company AB Glass has been awarded a contract to carry out structural glazing works at a luxury hotel in the countryside of Swansea.

The Swansea-based company has been appointed by Bradbar Construction, which specialise in creating bespoke solutions across both residential and commercial sectors. AB Glass will implement the design and installation of Saint Gobain structural glazing at Fairyhill by Oldwalls, located in Gower, as the venue introduces a state-of-the-art glass extension. The project is worth £100,000 to AB Glass, with work anticipated to start during November 2017.

Luxury wedding company Oldwalls announced it had acquired Fairyhill Hotel during November 2016, adding to its collection of esteemed wedding venues. The prestigious five-star, Grade II listed building will be given a modern twist with the new glass extension, while the charm and character of the Georgian mansion will remain.

Chris Hughes, business development manager at AB Glass, commented:

“Fairyhill is extremely well known in the area and we are delighted to be appointed by Bradbar Construction to complete the extension of this unique building. The structural glass development will provide modern luxury to this already admired venue. We look forward to getting started and adding this project to the many others we have undertaken in the Gower area.”

AB Glass was announced winner of the Business of the Year award and the Manufacturing Business of the Year award at the Swansea Bay Business Awards 2017 earlier this year.
