A successful 2018 for AB Glass – with more to come in 2019!

Award-winning AB Glass is proud to announce that it has had an incredibly successful year, with the company heading into the New Year with exciting prospects for 2019.

A momentous achievement during 2018 was the launch of AB Access – a new access control division to the company. The six figure investment in the new division has enhanced AB Glass’ comprehensive service offering, enabling the company to become a one-stop shop for manufactured aluminium and access control products for both the domestic and commercial markets.

In line with the launch of AB Access Control was the appointment of three new members of staff – Access Control Director, Justin John and Access Control Engineer, Ian Dowell along with Daniel Jones as Access Control Apprentice. The company is thrilled to have these three valuable members of staff join the team and lead this exciting new business division.

AB Glass has also carried out numerous projects during 2018, solidifying the company’s impressive portfolio of developments. These include various education-based projects such as the Route 39 Academy sustainable school project in North Devon; Ysgol Carreg Hir based in Briton Ferry, Neath Port Talbot; Swansea University’s Bay Campus IMPACT (Innovative Materials, Processing and Numerical Technologies) building; and Croesyceiliog School in Cwmbran. The company also ends 2018 undertaking work at Nerrols Primary School in Taunton.

Further projects AB Glass has worked on during 2018 include the Carluddon Technology Park and Employment Space for Advanced Manufacture (ESAM), which aims to attract high-value businesses and provide high-skilled jobs to help bolster new opportunities in Cornwall. The company has also proudly completed a project for renowned optical retailer, Specsavers. AB Glass completed refurbishment work at Specsavers’ support office in Guernsey, extending the company’s work base in the Channel Islands. Closer to home, AB Glass provided its services to Gower’s luxury wedding venue, Fairyhill by Oldwalls. A state-of-the-art glass extension was designed, manufactured and installed by AB Glass at the prestigious venue, adding a modern twist to this esteemed Georgian mansion.

In addition to the company’s growth and notable project success in 2018, AB Glass has also continued to maintain its admirable reputation as a company dedicated to effective environmental management. AB Glass was awarded the highest Green Dragon Environmental Standard – level five – again this year, which acknowledges the company’s efforts towards continued environmental improvement. The company also invested in a new 7.5 tonne truck, which has boosted AB Glass’ operations and thus enhanced its customer service.

With so many wonderful achievements during 2018, AB Glass is confident that success is only set to continue throughout 2019, with a number of plans already outlined for the New Year. The company is set to invest more in plant and equipment, as well as a new build storage facility. AB Glass will also continue with its community engagement efforts in 2019, particularly with local schools and universities. The company is dedicated to helping to enhance employability skills in the region and hosts educational visits at its premises for key insights into the world of manufacturing.

AB Glass would like to thank its extremely valued customers, associates and members of staff for all of their support throughout 2018. We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and very happy New Year, and look forward to working with you in 2019.
