AB Glass MD shortlisted for Welsh Veteran Award

The managing director of aluminium manufacturing and installation company AB Glass has been named a finalist in this year’s Welsh Veteran Awards.

As an ex-Army reservist with 20 years’ service Alan Brayley is one of four candidates shortlisted for the Business Leader of the Year award. The winner will be announced at a ceremony held at the Village Hotel and Leisure Club Swansea on 26th June 2019. The event is in support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

Brayley is dedicated to supporting Army veterans and has pursued several initiatives to help veterans and their families lead fulfilling lives upon leaving the forces. AB Glass has been a part of schemes that aim to help get ex-forces members in front of potential employers and is a member of the Armed Forces Covenant. The company has also employed former ex-forces personnel through recognising the value of the varied skills these respected members of society have.

Brayley is also taking on the challenge of trekking up Mount Toubkal in September this year in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, with 100% of donations going directly to the charity.

Alan Brayley, managing director at AB Glass, said:

“I’m thrilled to be a finalist in the Welsh Veteran Awards. Supporting veterans is something I’m very passionate about, so being shortlisted for the Business Leader of the Year award means a lot to me.

“As a business, we are keen to use our strong reputation as a successful Welsh employer and our many connections to help those who have left the forces to start a positive life with a meaningful career. I look forward to the awards event and wish all the finalists the best of luck.”
