AB Glass is delighted to have played its part in helping the Princess of Wales Hospital Bridgend increase its capacity of beds, enhancing its ability to treat patients with COVID-19.
The NHS hospital has built a new Respiratory High Care Unit specifically for patients with COVID-19 symptoms. Working alongside contractor John Weaver on the project, AB Glass installed around a dozen 6mm Clear Tough glazing units at the new facility.
The work was treated as a priority and completed extremely quickly with the aim of getting the ward open as quickly as possible, in the context of the current pandemic. The new facility is now ready to be handed over to the hospital, which can then start admitting patients.
