While society and the economy continue to face unprecedented challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, as government-imposed restrictions ease, here at AB Glass we are starting to see an uptick in enquiries and existing orders coming on line.
Construction companies and manufacturing businesses in particular are starting work again and that has led to an increase in demand for our products and services.
On that basis, we are delighted to say that we are seeking a small number of motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team in key areas of the business. Some of these positions were previously advertised before COVID-19 but have been on hold.
We are seeking a quantity surveyor with construction experience, a façade designer/CAD architectural technologist with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience, and we have a number of vacancies for experienced window fabricators. We also, are very keen to talk to young people with a view to apprenticeships in all areas of the business. We offer comprehensive training and an opportunity to join a thriving and growing business working with large contractors, universities and public sector bodies across the UK meaning good opportunities for career progression.
We are also delighted to be one of the first companies to support a new recruitment specialist in the area: Ministry People, a subsidiary of Ministry of Furniture. The new business is headed up by Caroline Locke, an experienced recruitment professional who previously founded award-wining agency Spotless Recruitment.
It will primarily (but not exclusively) focus on the construction sector, matching tradespeople, and other staff with potential employers. We like Ministry People for lots of reasons but one big reason is that it allocates a percentage of its profits to a social fund dedicated to supporting local community projects relevant to the construction sites it supports.
