Paul is one of our newest recruits, having joined the business in May 2020. He works as a site supervisor/contracts manager. Before joining AB Glass, he was a site implementation manager, controlling contractors under CDM regulations on site as site manager with an emphasis on health and safety.
Much of his career has revolved around managing and monitoring health and safety on construction sites as well as performing quality checks and assessments on work. One of his proudest career highlights was working on a £300 million project that finished 20 months ahead of schedule with no major accidents and zero adverse audit findings.
Paul says he is looking forward to getting out on site, especially on the Exeter project with Kier that will result in one of the first Passivhaus leisure centres to be built in the UK.
He says he likes working in the construction industry as it presents a different challenge every day – meaning constant innovation and new risks that must be assessed and controlled. The Passivhaus design for the leisure centre in Exeter demonstrates this, he says.
Paul is married to Liz and four children and three grandchildren, who he has missed regular contact with during the COVID-19 lockdown. When he is not working, he enjoys riding motorbikes, paddle boarding, exercising and being out in the fresh air.
