Here at AB Glass, we have always enjoyed supporting and inspiring young people. We have enjoyed seeing many apprentices complete their training with us over the years while, before lockdown restrictions limited us, we regularly welcomed schools into our premises for tours and education sessions about a career in construction.
We also enjoy welcoming students on work experience. And it was fantastic to get some positive feedback from one such student recently and wonderful to hear how much she felt she benefitted from her time with us.
Faye Fallon went to Dylan Thomas Community School and is now studying A-levels at Christ College Brecon. She joined us for work experience for several weeks recently working on the administration around project management and sent us a note reflecting on her experience.
She wrote to us saying: “Working at AB Glass has massively improved my transferrable skills and has given me vital insight into the importance of clear communication and teamwork within business.
“All the staff were extremely welcoming and inclusive. I especially appreciate how dedicated everyone was in helping me improve my personal confidence skills. This was a major hurdle, but thanks to the diligence of the kind-hearted staff, I was able to overcome it and work to my full potential.
“I can now competently interact with various user interfaces, use database management and work processing. I feel tremendously better prepared and well-equipped to succeed as part of a dynamic and proficient team in the future. Thank you AB Glass! It was a pleasure.”
