Debating the future outlook of manufacturing

In his capacity as the president of Swansea Bay Business Club, our Managing Director Alan Brayley chaired an important virtual round table debate examining the manufacturer’s industry’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic and the future outlook of the sector this month.

The event, held on Thursday January 21 via Zoom, also featured Graham Hirst, CEO, Ministry of Furniture; Alex Shufflebottom, managing director of Shufflebottom; Owain Davies, managing director, Amcanu; and Alison Orrells, managing director, The Safety Letterbox Company.

The event, held in partnership with Season Sponsor Swansea University School of Management, was sponsored by Ministry of Furniture.

The discussion provided valuable insights for the business club’s members. It also included a Q&A session at the end, offering the opportunity for members to contribute.

Alan Brayley said: “This was a fantastic event, which offered members some fascinating insights into how the manufacturing industry has handled the pandemic and the opportunities that may emerge as a result. It was also fantastic to share my own perspective as the MD of AB Glass.

“As a manufacturing company, I am proud of the way we have handled the pandemic and it was interesting to hear the experiences of other, similar, companies as they have navigated this period. It was also very encouraging to hear how optimistic they are about some of the opportunities that could emerge now as we move through the year.”
