Aluminium doors are fast becoming one of the most popular materials for doors. Styles, colours and fits are expanding, So we’ve put together our ultimate guide to the different types of aluminium doors;
Sliding doors
Sliding doors, or ‘patio doors’ are often used on decking or in a building where you want to accentuate a view and prevent it being obstructed. These doors are easy sliding and allow for the outdoors to flow in. They usually consist of between two and four panels and work on rollers for a seamless open and close.
Slide and fold
Folding-sliding doors are a great way to make an open space slightly more enclosed. Unlike sliding doors they can be fit in a larger space, often used in spaces like community centres and club houses where you’d need a large, open entrance.
They can consist of anywhere between three and ten panels. Perfect for allowing natural light into a larger venue or even living space.
French doors
These are the most common of the aluminium doors, they open both ways and are a good fit for a standard doorway. Commercially, they’re used most as entrances for buildings like offices and shopfronts. These are secure doors that allow for stronger protection against both weather and intruders.
With all the styles of doors, different finishes, colours and glazes can be chosen to best fit the style of your project. So if you’re looking for aluminium doors for a commercial or home project be sure to get in contact with us at AB Glass.
