Proud to be a DofE Bronze Associate Supporter

Here at AB Glass, we were proud to be officially recognized as a Bronze Associate Supporter of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Our managing director Alan Brayley was presented with the award at the recent DofE Charity Golf Day at Langland Bay by the Lord Lieutenant of West Glamorgan Louise Fleet and Welsh captain and rugby legend Alun Wyn Jones.

The title is awarded to businesses and organisations that are involved in maintaining the implementation of the DofE award across the UK.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award provides learning experiences for young people to gain work-ready skills and attributes which include communication, teamwork and leadership. As a universally inclusive scheme, the Award ensures that the younger generation is equipped with the skills they need to succeed in the current employment climate we see today.

Ian Gwilym, on behalf of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, said:

“We cannot thank AB Glass enough for their support of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and we’re pleased to present them with our Bronze Associate Supporter title. The support of businesses across Wales is imperative to achieve our mission of guiding and supporting young people in their self-development, improving their future prospects. and helping them be the best they can be.”

The DofE award aims to provide opportunities for 15,000 young people annually, and rely on Associate Supporters in order to achieve this target.

Alan Brayley, our managing director, said:

“It is a very proud moment and great honour to become an Associate Supporter of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, ensuring that young people can achieve the essential skills needed as they transition to the working world.”
