We were honoured to once again be a part of the Welsh Veterans Awards, which highlights the successes of ex-armed forces members who have transitioned to working in new industries after completing their service.
The Welsh Veteran Awards were held on September 9, at the Village Hotel, Cardiff and as avid supporters of armed forces charities and organisations, we showed our support through the sponsorship of the Employer of the Year Award.
The awards aim to inspire future service leaders that great things can happen, and symbolises the importance of being role models in society. Amongst the other awards on the night were Role Model of the Year, Inspiration of the Year and Leavers to Leader Award.
Additionally, managing director, Alan Brayley, was elected to the judging panel. Alan previously served in the Royal Regiment of Wales and Royal Welsh for 20 years and concluded his military career as a Sergeant Major.
Alan Brayley, our managing director, AB Glass, said:
“Having served in the armed forces for 20 years, I know the importance of providing opportunities for veterans after completing their service. The awards are a special occasion for those who share the same ethos and do their utmost to help the transition for leavers. Sponsoring the Employer of the Year award signifies the business’s commitment to their efforts and also being able to present an award is a real honour.”
The winner of Employer of the Year was Motivational Preparation College for Training, a military educational organisation that aims to improve the lives of younger people who have had negative experiences in their compulsory education.
