We would like to extend our utmost congratulations and best wishes to Michael Morgan, who has recently become President of Swansea Bay Business Club. The role was previously held by Alan Brayley, our Chairman, who is now Chair of the Membership Group and will provide advisory support to Michael Morgan and Deputy President, Amy Seppman.
Newly appointed President Michael Morgan is co-founder and Managing Director of Morgan & Morgan, one of West Wales’ Leading Office Solutions Companies. The Club is run on a volunteer basis, and those involved all share a common goal of committing to the improvement and development of the Swansea Bay region.
Alan was involved in many great achievements throughout his tenure as President, including prime involvement in navigating the Club through the COVID pandemic, a difficult time for the organisation as it relies heavily on in-person networking events and meetings.
Additionally, some key aspects of Alan’s tenure were delivering a new website for the organisation, which acts as a central hub of information for Swansea Bay Business Club, as well as spearheading the drive for increasing membership figures as a whole.
An important objective of Alan’s was to encourage a more diverse sector balance between male and female members. Typically, the industry has predominantly involved male members, but the aim is to bring numbers to be closer to an even split between male and female.
Alan’s commitment to supporting Armed Forces organisations was also an important aspect of his Presidency, raising £8,060 for ABF The Soldier’s Charity, who will also remain as the Club’s chosen charity for 2022. We are also avid supporters of Armed Forces organisations at AB Glass, and recently worked on Wales’ new state-of-the-art Royal Navy Unit, HMS Cambria. Read about this project here.
Alan Brayley, our Chairman, said:
“I would like to congratulate Michael on his appointment as Swansea Bay Business Club President and wish him all the best with his presidency. It has been a successful period in the face of adversity, and we all showed great determination throughout a pandemic which forced many of our meetings to be moved online. We all prefer to network face to face and beginning to be able to do that again is a huge step for the Club. Thank you to everybody who has supported me throughout my tenure.”
