We are delighted to have completed work on a newly built domestic property located in Glascoed, South Wales.
Involved in this project was property owner, Marcus Tulloch, and included products that cater to residential buildings. We are very pleased with our client base which consists of large-scale highrise buildings, working alongside large construction companies, but providing products for a newly built home brings a different feeling of satisfaction once completed.
The contract involved supplying the entire home with aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling as well as lift and slide doors. Featured products include the Kawneer AA100 Curtain Wall; Kawneer AA720 Windows; Kawneer AA720 Doors; and Kawneer AA3572 Lift and Slide Doors.
The colour chosen, RAL 9005 matt, is a jet-black finish often chosen to present a modern look that perfectly suits this ‘Grand Designs’ inspired home.
The project was also built using PassivHaus principles, increasing thermal performance and airtightness. The use of air source heat pumps and solar panels were also installed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and energy consumption. We also worked on the UK’s first PassivHaus leisure centre at St Sidwell’s Point, Exeter, which you can read about here.
The project was commissioned by architect, Jon James Studio Architecture. CGI provided by StudioNesh.
Nigel Harvey, our Managing Director, said:
“As we predominately work within the commercial sector, projects like this are always great to be involved in and see someone’s home come to life. The window system chosen for this project is ideal for the modern look that is hugely popular within the residential market today, and the finish marries that perfectly. With sustainability being an important issue today, it was great to work on another PassivHaus project, focused on reducing energy consumption and creating a high thermal performance property.”
