Here at AB Glass, we would like to congratulate all the winners and shortlisted at the Welsh Veterans Awards, which took place on June 30, 2022, at the Village Hotel and Leisure Club Cardiff.
We would especially like to congratulate Monmouthshire County Council for winning Employer of the Year for its support of ex-Armed Forces personnel and their families, a category sponsored by AB Glass.
The Welsh Veterans Awards is an initiative that recognises the achievements of veterans in business, fitness, sport and the wider community. The event recognises the many Armed Forces Veterans in Wales who have made the transition from the military to civilian life and rewards those who have gone above and beyond and excelled in their relevant fields. The event, which supported ABF The Soldiers’ Charity Wales and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, was hosted by Andrea Byrne. During the evening guests heard from Deputy Minister Hannah Blythyn MS, Brigadier Jock Fraser MBE, Brigadier Andrew Dawes CBE and Welsh Veterans Commissioner Col James Phillips.
Alan Brayley, our Managing Director and Deputy Lieutenant of West Glamorgan, said:
“It was once again a privilege to be a part of this event. I have always had a strong affinity with the armed forces and the veteran’s community. I served in the Royal Regiment of Wales and Royal Welsh for 20 years, finishing my military career as a Sergeant Major. Since leaving the Forces, AB Glass has employed many ex-service personnel and helped many more in other ways. It was a fantastic night and the event is going from strength to strength.”
