One of the UK’s leading architectural glass and glazing suppliers

As a company with links to the Armed Forces, being part of the construction of the new Royal Navy Unit, HMS Cambria, was a real honour and privilege.

HMS Cambria, located in Cardiff Bay, was completed in March 2021 following four years of planning and has been described as the ‘crown jewel’ in the Defence Estate.

AB Glass supplied the windows and doors for the project, which included Kawneer AA540 windows, Kawneer AA190 doors and Kawneer AA100 Curtain Walling Systems.  The project was delivered on time and on budget and the structure was designed to reflect the dynamic and unique aspects of The Royal Navy.

The location of the £11million structure is also significant, as it has enabled HMS Cambria, Wales’ only Royal Navy Reserve Unit to return to its original maritime home in Cardiff Bay. The building will act as a central hub for Wales’ University Royal Naval Unit, Naval cadets and the Royal Marine Reserves.

The building includes state-of-the-art facilities, classroom suites, shared accommodation for up to 50 people, administrative offices for up to 80 people, and social and fitness centres. The exterior of the building includes a rope training area, car park and a parade square for practising drills.
